Check the toy before you begin
Check for open seams, loose parts, or damage. A compressed toy does not automatically need washing. If clean and dry, give it room outside its packaging and gently help it regain its shape. If damp or dirty, check the label’s permitted cleaning method first.
Remove moisture as the label allows
If the instructions permit towel blotting, press a clean towel lightly against wet areas. Avoid twisting the body or pulling limbs, ears, and tails to force water out. Use heat or a tumble dryer only if explicitly permitted. Similar fabrics can have different drying instructions.
Give the inside time to dry
Where air drying is permitted, place the toy in a well-ventilated spot in the position allowed by its care instructions. Turn or reposition it gently if needed so damp areas are not trapped underneath. Check thick areas and folds as well as the surface. Drying time depends on construction and conditions; a fixed number of hours cannot confirm that the filling is dry.
Reshape without stressing seams
When the care instructions allow handling, support the body and gently redistribute soft stuffing through the fabric. Stop if the material resists, a seam stretches, or filling seems fixed in place. Do not open seams or force separate internal compartments together. Store only when fully dry, with enough space to avoid continued compression.

How long will drying take?
There is no single drying time for every plush. Follow its label, check the filling, and ask support if you cannot judge whether it is fully dry.
Can I brush the fur to restore it?
Only if the toy’s care instructions allow brushing and specify a suitable tool. Some fabrics and decorative details can snag or change texture.
